Since she burst onto the Caribbean music scene in 1996 with the raunchy single Just a Friend, Trinidad and Tobago’s Destra Garcia has grown as an artist, becoming a household name in the Caribbean region and steadily gaining international momentum.
The Caribbean has watched her grow from a somewhat shy and reserved performer on-stage, to a powerhouse performer rocking every concert in which her band plays.
In terms of performance style and energy, she has been compared to the likes of fellow soca star Machel Montano, and is the undisputed most popular and loved female soca artist in the Caribbean.
