There can never be enough motivation out there when it comes to building up the black woman. There can never be too much music, prose, poetry, TV shows and magazine articles that pay homage to black girl magic.


You see, it is from the black woman’s womb that springs forth generations and generations of beautiful black faces and brilliant black minds. When we build the black woman up, we multiply; we promote growth in our community; we inspire her to keep going.

This young woman who goes by the name “Masterpiece” does just that in the poem “Black Girl Blues.” Listen to the full spoken word piece below.
