National Harriet Tubman Historical Park Coming Soon
A Harriet Tubman National Park could soon be erected in Upstate New York.
Sen. Charles Schumer said that the Department of the Interior has already completed a land transfer agreement that will permit the National Parks Service to formally establish the Harriet Tubman National Historic Park in Auburn, NY.
The site of Tubman’s old home and the A.M.E. Zion Church which she attended, located roughly one mile away from her former residence, will be included in the park.
After being free for one decade, Tubman purchased a parcel of land on the outskirts of Auburn, located 25 miles west of Syracuse.
