Black History in the Making: Jemelle Williams

jamelleJemelle Williams is an entrepreneur/artist manager and the founder of Urban Evolution Enterprise (UEE), a Canada-based artist management firm.

Williams is also the executive director of YYZ HILIGHTZ, a boutique lifestyle media outlet that has been in operation since 2012.






For the period 2013-2015, he acted as host/booker for a weekly live music showcase entitled “Live Thursdays” at Dazzling, a cafe/restaurant located in Vancouver, Canada, and has hosted “ABC2RISE”, a community-based weekly event that ran throughout 2014, which connected emerging artists with established artists through panel discussions.

Williams, an alumni of  Canada’s Music Incubator Artist Management program (2015), is well-respected in his native Toronto, so much so that, for his work within his community, he has been awarded “Certificate of Recognition”,  for “his dedication to bringing awareness towards the social justice for children all over the world”,  which was offered by politician/activist Rathika Sitsabaiesan in 2012, and “Certificate of Recognition” as a role model for “his work as a musician and youth worker who is an inspiration to all of those who aspire to make a difference in the world” at the 2014 Black Canadian Awards.

Urban Evolution Enterprise currently works with Hip Hop Artist/Producer- Xolisa, Actor/Comedian/YouTuber- Senior Gum Boy and DJ/Vocalist/Producer, S-Quire of Better Blends Entertainment.
