On the Importance of Letting Our Voices Be Heard: A Poem by Rudy Francisco
In a world that has been attempting to silence black people for centuries, raising our voices is imperative; we must raise it to be heard over all the noise of discrimination, biases, accusations, and stereotyping.
We must raise it so that the generation coming after us may have inspiration to look to, in the same way that we found inspiration in the ones who raised their voices before us.
Poet Rudy Francisco reminds us of the importance of letting our collective black voices be heard in the poem entitled “To The Body.”
