Poet Fatima Camara Looks Beyond the Headlines
It’s funny how constant headlines that say the same thing over and over with different wording can desensitize those who read them; and it’s strange how a little sugar sprinkled on the truth to sweeten it (a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down?) can turn that truth into a lie.
Poet Fatima Camara draws comparisons between the way the media sugarcoats the truth, and the way a deadbeat dad sugarcoats the giving up of his responsibilities, in the spoken word piece entitled “Headlines.”
