Poet Joseph Capehart Pays Tribute to Black Mothers

It is said that a woman only comes full circle when she becomes a mother, and that there is no love on this earth that can be compared with a mother’s love. Some aren’t fortunate enough to experience that love, so for those who have experienced it; those that have ¬†given it or have been on the receiving end of it; understand that you are blessed.

Just in time for mother’s day, Joseph Capehart has written and delivered one of the most beautiful love letters that you will ever listen to; a love letter in the form of poetry; a love letter to his mother.¬†

In this love letter/poem, he remembers the warmth of her smile and her simple beauty, comparing it to the beauty of West Africa, her homeland, and ends by stating that, should he be fortunate enough to meet and fall in love with a woman anything like his mother, he knows that she will be the most beautiful woman that he has ever laid his eyes on.
