Gabrielle Goodwin Accessorizes America
A while back, we featured little Gabrielle Goodwin, the brilliant mind behind GaBBY Bows, a line of handy and fashionable hair accessories for girls.
Since then, Goodwin’s business has prospered greatly; in fact, she is now supplying her hair accessories to 50 Once Upon a Child stores in 16 states across the US.
When she was just five years old, Goodwin demanded that her mom assist her in creating a barrette that would stay in her hair. By age seven, along with mom Rozalynn, she had launched her company, and that company hasn’t stopped thriving since.
Running a successful company can be time-consuming indeed, but Goodwin still manages to make straight A’s at school, all while handling inventory for her GaBBY Bows, serving as the head saleswoman at trade shows, appearing as a guest speaker at community groups and schools, writing personal thank-you cards to customers who order online, and assisting with sales taxes. In addition, she hosts a string of events called “GaBBY Play Dates” to teach young girls living in children’s shelters about entrepreneurship.
A children’s book about Goodwin and GaBBY Bows, entitled “Gabby Invents the Perfect Hair Bow,” will be be published this summer by Entrepreneur Kid.
“It feels really good to walk in a store and see your own product on the shelves! I am grateful to have a LOT of supporters and be expanding.”
