New Book Honors Solange’s ‘A Seat at the Table.’
Bay area photographer and creative architect Seher Sikander’s latest project entitled Testimonies From the Table is a collection of narratives and portraits “honoring the lived experiences of 61 diverse black women in America.”
The project was inspired by Solange’s critically acclaimed A Seat at the Table album, as well as her performance piece “An Ode To” at the Guggenheim Museum.
Testimonies From the Table features handwritten statements and instant film photos from each of the women who participated, to encourage awareness, sisterhood, solidarity and healing among black women.
